We founded Beartooth Performance on the concept that fitness backed-by-science should be accessible to everyone. 

It’s our mission to debunk the slew of false fitness myths that plague our society. 

We deliver well thought-out workouts rooted in evidence-based philosophies that actually help you achieve the results you’re looking for. We’ll combat the bull$#it and deliver the good $#it.

FITNESS IS POWERFUL

The benefit of fitness isn’t about being good at the gym, it’s about having the confidence to do whatever gets you fired up. People place frustrating ceilings on themselves, but we see their potential, and it’s our mission to help them until they do too. It’s never too early, and it’s never too late.

FOOD IS AWESOME

The most successful way to tackle nutrition is through an individualized, science-backed approach, that accounts for people’s goals and relationships, lifestyles and preferences. There’s no one size fits all, and we start with the smallest, most achievable habit, and build
from there.

COACHING IS A RELATIONSHIP

A great Coach doesn’t just run a class, they curate an experience. Our coaches don’t motivate you by showing off their abilities, they motivate you by showing you yours. We believe that coaching is 85% about understanding people. 10% is technical. And 5% is about the music. You can always expect great music!

LIFE IS AN ADVENTURE

Meaningful relationships, connection, and culture make life meaningful. Doing something you’re passionate about also keeps life interesting, so we believe you should find something worth doing. And when you do, do it well. Work hard at it. Develop a strong work ethic and enjoy the adventures along the way.

DAYNE DYER

Owner and CEO.

After finishing baseball and upon graduating summa cum laude with a Exercise Science degree, Dayne entered into the corporate world. After years in sales, Dayne dropped everything to start what we now know as Beartooth Performance. 

Growing up in St. Louis, he has realized how many more opportunities were available here in Montana. His mission ever since is to bring the latest evidenced-based training to Montana. While CrossFit allowed him the ability to open his doors, Beartooth has since evolved into an all encompassing strength and conditioning facility.

His passion for learning, fitness, athletics, and the way the human body moves provide a strong foundation for his athletes success.

For Dayne, the lifelong pursuit of how to intertwine knowledge, empathy, and communication is the key to becoming a great coach that unlocks people's potential. 

Don’t let Dayne’s love of fitness fool you though. He believes in balance, and his love of cookie dough and Star Wars makes that apparent. You can find Dayne coaching early mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Beartooth would not be what it is today without his leadership and commitment.

JUSTIN SMITH

Head of Performance.

A Dawsonville, GA native coming to us most recently from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. Justin spent the last 3 years as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach for Tulane Football and the Director for Catapult wearable technology. In his tenure, the Tulane football team made two consecutive bowl game appearances. He also served as the head Strength and Conditioning coach for Tulane track and field and the 2022 National Champion Tulane sailing team. Before Tulane, Justin spent a year interning with the University of Oregon football program working directly with strength and conditioning, sports science, and athletic training. Throughout his career Justin has coached and programmed for the disciplines of football, track and field, sailing, wrestling, soccer, basketball, golf, volleyball, baseball and softball. He has coached 35+ current NFL players in a team and/or personal training environment. With a masters in Biology from the University of West Georgia, Justin is committed to understanding the science behind training and motivated to educate athletes on the importance of training adaptations specific to their sport, lifestyle and goals. 


Justin and his wife Lexi, who hails from Oregon, are excited to be in Montana because of the opportunity to influence the state’s sports performance training culture and to explore Montana’s outdoors.

ANNA KASPERICK

Head of Nutrition and Group Fitness. 

Anna was raised in Rural Wyoming, surrounded by vast landscapes that inspired her love for the outdoors and staying active. Pursuing her passion for nutrition, she earned a degree from the University of Wyoming and later became a Registered Dietitian in 2015 after completing her Dietetic internship at Montana State University. Anna's mission is to empower active individuals to foster wholesome connections with both food and fitness through personalized counseling and strategic planning. You'll often find Anna coaching and working out at all hours of the day, dedicated to helping others achieve their fitness goals and pushing herself to new heights of personal excellence.

NICOLE THOMAS

Sales Manager & Group Fitness Coach. 

Nicole found fitness a little later in life. It wasn’t until college that Nicole really discovered her passion for fitness and nutrition. While attending school at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, she was offered the opportunity to fill-in as the Group-Fitness Coordinator for UNLV’s Recreation Center. This position allowed her to learn the in’s and out’s of group fitness while teaching classes like Zumba, Pilates, Spin, Yoga and Kick-Boxing. It was during this time that Nicole first tried CrossFit and fell in love with it. Nicole ended up receiving her Bachelor's degree in Health and Human Performance from Montana State University, Billings. After graduating, Nicole chose the nutrition path, opening a healthy food restaurant offering fresh juices, smoothies, wellness bowls, soups, salads, wraps and more.

After 10 years of owning and operating her own business, Nicole has again found her way back to coaching and the fitness industry. Her favorite part of coaching is helping athletes recognize and celebrate their progress. You can find her working out in the wee-hours of the morning, often alone at 4am, before coaching morning and afternoon classes.

TERRA EATON

Group Fitness Coach.

Terra’s love for fitness started at a young age with her diverse athletic background in sports, dance & gymnastics and later as a personal trainer & yoga instructor. Today, she finds sanctuary in movement for her physical and mental health. To her, fitness is a tool that helps her better manage her anxiety and depression. As a coach, she loves helping athletes develop the same relationship with fitness she has. Sharing her passion with others and celebrating their successes along the way.

You can find Terra working out and coaching in the evenings! She doesn’t believe in 5AM fitness.

SARAH SULLIVAN

Group Fitness Coach.

If you know Sarah, you know it’s in her DNA to move. She reflects on fitness as her longest love affair, complete with a few break ups, some unhealthy obsessions, and ultimately sheer bliss. Her years of experience in long endurance sports bring a unique perspective on fitness encouraging athletes to find balance while still committing to their most lofty goals. She’s qualified for the Boston Marathon and completed a 53 mile trail race, just to name a few. 
Her favorite part of coaching is helping others progress on their own fitness journey, and when it comes to food, she doesn’t discriminate. You can catch Sarah coaching early mornings as well between her kids' baseball games!

ELIJAH DAVID

Performance Coach.

Elijah is from Havre MT. He received his bachelor's degree from Montana State University-Northern and his master's degree from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. Elijah got into fitness/coaching by bringing all of his friends to the gym and leading them in lifts. He thought he should make a career out of it and found a home at Beartooth Performance. He and his wife, Cady, enjoy hiking, fishing and watching a good movie in their free time.
